FPM affiliates have used education, shortage of bread and subsidized goods to fuel racial discourse against Syrians. Much of this discourse then gets redistributed through newspapers, radio and TV stations.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rock.mhanna\/videos\/610742566926418\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">interview<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with OTV, FPM\u2019s Education Officer Rock Mhanna denounced the \u201cintegration\u201d of Syrian students with Lebanese students, claiming that the priority of aid towards education should be given to Lebanese students only.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, several ministers are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.almodon.com\/media\/2022\/7\/1\/400-%D8%A3%D9%84%D9%81-%D8%B1%D8%A8%D8%B7%D8%A9-%D8%AE%D8%A8%D8%B2-%D9%84%D9%84%D8%B3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%AA%D8%B4%D8%B9%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%8A%D9%8A%D9%86\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reporting<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> confusing and misleading numbers, outlets then <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bintjbeil.org\/posts\/pfbid02JuTWrHgp6nohPBdAwyqME6teiEb8TwxFjfnBWUkYDXdpBmodjfZ4USC7hDZkC7dzl?__cft__[0]=AZXIZ91rVRNJK2Z01Olqsh4H6VHu48Agzv-tHSMkGvoBpAPxiH6YH5vfbYnMM2ADX3JvWQpOSRn01ILTHv86roQ244M-cXh61UxyogBhrmS-COQuGlzNq7A-zV3j6P0j2dv7CLyN8FnrQD4Dyx_P9voD&amp;__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">redistribute<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> these numbers on social media and radio stations without any clear citation. For example, an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.almodon.com\/economy\/2022\/6\/26\/%D8%A5%D8%AA%D9%87%D8%A7%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A8%D8%A3%D9%86%D9%87%D9%85-%D9%8A%D8%A3%D9%83%D9%84%D9%88%D9%86-%D8%AE%D8%A8%D8%B2-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%8A%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%8A%D8%B9-%D8%A8%D8%A8%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%87%D9%88%D9%8A%D8%A9\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">article<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Al Modon citing Hector Hajjar, Minister of Social Affairs, claims that \u201cLebanon supports <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">displaced<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Syrians with 9 million USD monthly for bread.\u201d This number does not align very well with Hector\u2019s previous <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.general-security.gov.lb\/uploads\/articles\/10512.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">statement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that \u201c3 billion USD\u201d are spent over the last 11 years on bread for Syrians.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same article reported discrimination against Syrian customers who were denied the sale of subsidized goods in supermarkets based on their identification papers. In another article, Syrians were reportedly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.almodon.com\/society\/2022\/6\/29\/%D8%A8%D8%B9%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%83-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%87%D8%B1%D9%85%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B4%D8%A7%D8%A6%D8%B1-%D8%AA%D8%AD%D8%AA%D9%83%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%83%D9%87%D8%B1%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%A1-%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AE%D8%A8%D8%B2-%D9%8A%D8%A4%D8%AC%D8%AC-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%86%D8%B5%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%B6%D8%AF-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%AC%D8%A6%D9%8A%D9%86\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u062a\u0639\u0631\u0636\u062a\u0627 \u0644\u0625\u0639\u062a\u062f\u0627\u0621<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Lebanese customers.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al Modon did not cite where the reports came from, making its discourse very ambiguous and suspect to rumors and word of mouth.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Honorary Consul of Nepal Meets with Minister of Labor<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/elcheikmghouzayel\/posts\/pfbid02VsAGaqvhfoJ1g8LK9zqheEPfZRWdsEptuZSyK2eGi93bA4mJxAXLThggWG33LNmVl\"><b>[here]<\/b><\/a><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Honorary Consul of Nepal Mohammad Ghouzayel met with the Minister of Labor Moustafa Bayram where it was announced that Nepal has lifted the ban that had prevented Nepalese women who were domestic workers in Lebanon from returning. The Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries with regards to Nepalese workers in Lebanon was also discussed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b>Newspapers are Targeting Syrians using Misinformation and Scapegoating<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tayyar.org\/News\/Lebanon\/483837\/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%B1--%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%A4%D9%88%D9%84%D9%88%D9%86-%D9%8A%D8%AD%D9%85%D9%84%D9%88%D9%86-%D9%81%D9%82%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%86--%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%BA%D9%8A%D9%81--%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%B2%D8%AD%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%8A%D9%86\"><b>[here]<\/b> <\/a><b>\u0648 <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.akhbaralyawm.com\/news\/195311\"><b>[here]<\/b><\/a><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al Diyar Newspaper said in an article that \u201cstatistics and media campaigns about <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">displaced <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Syrians are the reason behind the Lebanese miseries,\u201d and that those \u201cstatistics\u201d increase tensions and racist incidents between Lebanese and Syrians.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the article uses similar exaggerated numbers to misinform its readers about the situation, and while the article did not directly blame Syrians for the economic collapse, it did blame the Minister of Economy for not taking \u201cstrict regulations to solve the refugee crisis.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, Annahar released an opinion piece that denounces the integration of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, calling it \u201can international scheme that aims to domiciliation.\u201d The article claims that this \u201cscheme was witnessed before with Armenians and Palestinians,\u201d and that the objective is to \u201cdestroy the Lebanese identity.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The article is filled with hate speech, exaggerated numbers and contradictions, for example, the article blames Syrian refugees for the economic collapse, yet admits that the economy of\u00a0 Lebanon was already structurally flawed.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6475bf8 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"6475bf8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div
