Position: Consultant for the Annual Report 2021

Employer: Anti-Racism Movement (ARM)

Department: Advocacy and Communications

Reporting to: Advocacy and Communications Officer

Location: ARM office in Sursock (Ashrafieh, Beirut, Lebanon) and remotely

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Employment duration: February 1st, 2022 until April 15 2022.

Contract Type: Consultancy

Total payment: USD 1,200-1,500 depending on experience and on final submission


Job Purpose

The consultant will be responsible for writing ARM’s annual report for the year 2021, and coordinating with the teams to compile data and content, as well as coordinating with the designer upon completion of the final draft.

The consultant will be following up closely with the Advocacy and Communications Officer to ensure completion of tasks during a timeline of 2.5 months and to give updates on the progress of the work and receive weekly feedback.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Social Science or Humanity including but not limited to Media, Communication, Sociology, Philosophy, Anthropology, Education.
  • Previous experience in drafting and editing organizational reports
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Excellent command in Microsoft Office Skills and Google Drive.
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work and communicate well with a variety of individuals, with professionalism and goodwill

Work Scope

During this period, the consultant is expected to complete the following tasks: 

  • Reviewing past annual report for feedback
  • Researching potential annual report formats, sections, and layouts
  • Attending required orientation and coordination meetings
  • Developing and implementing a detailed structure for ARM's 2021 annual report in coordination with the Advocacy & Communication Officer
  • Developing a schedule and way of working in coordination with the Advocacy & Communication Officer for the timely publication of the report
  • Liaising and attending scheduled meetings with ARM/MCC staff persons where needed
  • Delegating to, and following up with, the relevant staff persons for needed data and content, within strict deadlines
  • Drafting and suggesting outlines and content when needed
  • Implementing suggested edits based on feedback from the ARM team
  • Compiling report and sending it for feedback
  • Coordinating with a designer for the report design
  • Proofreading, editing, and paraphrasing content before and after the report is designed
  • Sending the report for translation, and following up on the process with the translator
  • Proofreading, editing, and paraphrasing content of the translated report
  • Coordinating with shops for printing (quotations, quality, samples)
  • Reporting and following up with the Advocacy & Communication Officer Officer when further assistance or information is required
