About Anti-Racism Movement
The Anti-Racism Movement (ARM) was launched in 2010 as a grassroots collective by young local feminist activists in collaboration with migrant workers and domestic workers. ARM’s mission is to achieve social, economic and gender justice for migrant workers and racialized groups in Lebanon – with a specific focus on migrant domestic worker women living under the oppressive Kafala system. Our theory of change positions migrant workers as leaders and agents of social change, which happens through our migrant-led or migrant-centered work in advocacy, community-building and organizing and legal casework.
ARM has grown a lot in the last few years of the compounded crisis in Lebanon and so have our needs, plans and challenges. We are a team of 30 people with big ideas and a strong belief in a feminist ethics of care. This not only extends to our work, but to our working environment too.
