Evacuation Updates
More Nigerian workers evacuated successfully [here]
70 Nigerian women were evacuated from Lebanon with the support of the Lebanese community in Nigeria early last week. It was reported that before that flight, a total of 470 Nigerian women had already been evacuated from Lebanon.
Cameroonian workers granted exit clearance and laissez-passer [source is ARM]
The first batch of Cameroonian women received their exit clearance from the General Security and the laissez-passer documents early last week, and will finally be evacuated to Cameroon. The remaining women are expected to receive their documents as well in the next week or two.
More Sudanese workers evacuated [here]
16 more Sudanese men travelled back to Sudan on saturday October 3. More to be evacuated very soon.

Report on effects of the explosion on migrant workers by Khateera [here]
A video by Khateera on the effects of the explosion on mgirant workers reported that 8% of people affected were migrant workers, of which 15 were killed and 150 were injured.it also included a brief historical overview of domestic labor in Lebanon and the changes in the nationalities over the years. It also reported that migrant domestic workers earn as little as a quarter of the official minimum wage in Lebanon, and highlighted the work and efforts of Egna Legna Besidet.
Call for evacuation of migrant domestic workers by Kafa [here]
Kafa organization called on the Lebanese government, governments of countries of origin, and international agencies to immediately evacuate migrant domestic workers from Lebanon and to help them retrieve their unpaid wages.
Ethiopian Airlines announce ticket price [here]
The Ethiopian airlines announced on Facebook that the ticket to Addis Ababa is 284 USD if purchased through their website.
Bangladeshi returnees arrested after quarantine [here]
A number of Bangladeshi workers who were detained in Syria then deported to Lebanon were arrested in Bangladesh after completing their quarantine there. A police officer said that “they were arrested because they were incarcerated in Syria, and as a result, they have committed the crime of ruining the image of our country.” The crimes they allegedly committed in Syria and Lebanon remain unknown, while some were arrested for being undocumented.
Report on evacuation of Ghanaian workers by Daily Guide Network [here]
An article by Daily Guide Network reported that 2262 Ghanaian workers were evacuated from Lebanon between last June and September. More than 80% of those workers had unpaid wages, and 70% had their passports confiscated. The government is covering the costs of PCR tests and quarantine, in addition to psychosocial support to reintegrate the women in their society.
