Caretaker minister of labor Lamia Yammine announced the ministry is still coordinating with consulates and embassies to devise the plan to vaccinate migrant workers.

A report by BBC News covered the awareness efforts on the situation of migrant domestic workers in Lebanon by Lucy, former Sierra Leonean community leader. The report also featured testimonies of different migrant domestic workers who escaped abuse and mistreatment at the employers’ houses, and the president of the syndicate of recruitment agencies who claimed that “the situation is not that bad at all” and that the majority of workers are happy with the employers.

In an interview with Le Commerce du Levant, a member of the Housing Monitor noted the exacerbation of the evictions and housing crisis among the migrant and refugee populations by the explosion of the Beirut port, adding that the crisis is not limited in Beirut but to the whole country.
Among the violations targeting the 2 groups of tenants is the act of confiscating their passports and/or papers by landlords in exchange for rent.
