Cameroonian women evacuated [source is ARM]

Another group of 7 Cameroonian women traveled home on Tuesday November 17 with the support of ARM, and an online fundraiser organized by “Help Them Home” campaign, as well as Beit El Baraka.

More Sudanese workers evacuated [here]

44 Sudanese men traveled in the past week. Around 50-60 others will be traveling in December.

IOM meets with Honorary Consul of Nepal [here]

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) met with the honorary consul of Nepal in Lebanon to discuss evacuation of Nepalese domestic workers and legal support for the ones subjected to abuse. The honorary consul stated that Nepal would not lift the ban on Nepalese workers to work in Lebanon until the two countries sign a memorandum pledging to protect them and guarantee their rights.

Report on Kafala by Beirut Today [here]

A video by Beirut Today reported the reasons why the Lebanese authorities resist calls to abolish the Kafala system given the lack of social services pertaining to care work, as well as the shortcomings of the standard unified contract (SUC).

Workers in Waste Management Company in Saida strike [here]

Migrant workers in the waste management company IBC in Saida went on a strike last week to protest the delay in salary payments. A company representative met with the workers and promised they would be paid as soon as the government pays its dues to the company. He also asked them to end the strike, to which they responded that they would not until their demands are met.

Kafa’s Campaign for Domestic Work [here]

Kafa Organization released a video on the situation of migrant domestic workers under the Kafala system in Lebanon, highlighting the lack of any protection for them.
