In three unrelated incidents, three Migrant Domestic Workers in Lebanon have died or been seriously injured in the last week. The Migrant Domestic Workers Coordination Consortium (MDWCC) and other civil society NGOs demand rigorous and serious investigations into the three cases and in all cases of Migrant Domestic Workers’ death or serious injury.
I know that every single person who might read this has a mother or maybe unfortunately has lost her already. I’m certain certain that many of you can relate to the pain caused by witnessing a loved one suffer & wither away.
A recent report issued by Human Rights Watch showed that at least 95 migrant domestic workers have died every year in Lebanon since 2007.
