A United Nations independent expert today urged Lebanon to investigate the death of an Ethiopian migrant domestic worker who committed suicide days after being abused in the capital city of Beirut.
ادعت النيابة العامة في بيروت على اللبناني الذي قام بضرب العاملة الإثيوبية عاليم ديسيسا، بجنحة المساهمة في التسبب بالانتحار. وقد أحيل أمام المحكمة الجزائية المختصة. وكانت صور المدعى عليه قد ظهرت في الشريط الذي عرضته «المؤسسة اللبنانية للإرسال».
It’s been always really hard to explain how a girl, a migrant domestic worker ends up committing suicide. And what makes it harder is when this girl is killed and then claimed that she had committed suicide in order to protect the Lebanese employer from legal prosecution.
